New Generation Artists Playing Gibson Guitars
Amythyst Kiah

A guitar is an expressive instrument, capable of conveying thoughts and feelings. It also fosters connections with other musicians and a sense of community. Gibson is the brand that revolutionized rock ‘n’ roll with legendary guitarists such as Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters; its legacy continues today.
The tradition continues to live on today, as a new generation of artists is helping define genre boundaries and encouraging others to take up the instrument. Therefore, Gibson is now offering an acoustic instrument collection designed for players of all ages and styles – The Generation Collection from Gibson’s Bozeman, Montana facility designed to help players hear more of themselves.
The Generation Collection features hand-crafted G-45 acoustic guitars designed with premium artist features like all-solid construction and an easy-to-play thin body. Plus, they incorporate the limit-pushing Gibson Player Port technology which projects sound out toward you from a side-mounted sound hole on the upper curve of the body, providing an enhanced sonic experience.
Kiah’s latest release, Pensive Pop (Rounder Records), sees her reimagining several songs from her extensive musical influences. Her renditions of Tori Amos’ “Sugar,” Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” and Green Day’s “Hitchin’ a Ride” all showcase her ability to combine iconoclastic rock with hard-hitting songwriting.
Kiah has made an impression in the music world as a talented guitarist, but it’s her singing voice that truly sets her apart. Her songs are deeply personal reflections on life’s experiences – from losing her mother to addiction to learning how to love yourself.
The Gibson Generation Group, or Gibson G3, is Gibson’s two-year mentoring program for new generations of guitar players.
Nikki Lane

Lane, originally from Greenville, South Carolina, has made a name for herself in Americana music by evolving from her humble origins. Her sound is inspired by outlaw country with elements of blues and rock music; her most recent release Denim & Diamonds showcases this rock-centric side.
She enlisted Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme to assist her with creating her record, which features Alain Johannes from Queens of the Stone Age on guitar and bass, Dean Fertita on organ, and Michael Shuman on drums. Additionally featured are Matt Helders from Arctic Monkeys and Carla Azar from Autolux on percussion.
Lane’s music is inspired by Phil Spector and mid-’60s Britgirl singers, giving her songs an exciting edge. Whether she’s singing about heartbreak from unrequited love, soaring romance, or the exhilaration of winning the jackpot, her voice is uninhibited and gritty.
Nikki Lane’s latest album is a testament to her self-determination, one that will fill Nikki with pride. She desires more control over her life and is willing to work hard to reach it.
Gibson has been the go-to guitar brand for generations of musicians and music lovers across genres for 127 years, inspiring generations with world-class craftsmanship, legendary partnerships, and progressive product evolution. Today, Gibson continues to build upon its legendary status as a leader in guitars with unparalleled product innovations that continue to define its sound.
